The 13th International Conference on Megagauss Magnetic Field Generation and Related Topics, MG-XIII, Opens in Suzhou, China, on July 6~10, 2010.
The MG conference, the most important conference for scientists and engineers to report and discuss the latest progress in every aspect of the science, technology and applications ofmagagauss magnetic field, was established in 1976. The 13th International Conference on Megagauss Magnetic Field Generation and Related Topics, MG-XIII, is the first time to held except Europe and United State.

The Conference, whose theme is “high-power pulse source technology and its application in physics experiment”, is expected to cover a wide range of scientific and technical areas: ultrahigh and non-destructive pulsed magnetic field generation; high magnetic field physics; explosive and common high pulsed power technology and their applications in physical experiments, including explosively driven magnetic flux compression generators and high current sources; high current, high power switches and power conditioning technology; electromagnetically driven high energy density physics, including electromagnetic implosion of liners and Z-Pinch physics; experimental diagnosis and numerical simulations in related fields; related topics.

The MG-XIII conference was hosted by Institute of Electrical Engineering, China Academy of Sciences (IEE, CAS) and Institute of Fluid Physics, China Academy of Engineering Physics (IFP, CAEP). Prof. Luguang Yan, member of CAS and Prof. Chengwei Sun, member of CAE took the chairmen of the conference. The conference was supported by CAS.
The conference presents “Pavlovsky Prizes” to Prof. R.E. Reinovsky and Prof. G.A. Shneerson for their long-term contribution to Megagauss Magnetic Field technology.
More than 160 scientists from ten countries gather together to present and to discuss their up-to-date achievements in this important area.
