Prof. Hew Wooi Ping from University of Malaya Visited IEE
  Date:2014-06-10

June 5, Prof. Hew Wooi Ping from University of Malaya visited IEECAS and presented a report titled "The Renewable Energy and Electrical Technology Research of University of Malaya”.

The report centered around the research work on electrical technology and renewable energy of University of Malaya. Firstly, he introduced the research progress and achievements in multiphase motor, two motors drive with five legs inverter, axial flux motor, voltage source inverter P - Q control, and wind power or hydroelectric power system. Then, he talked about the support policies for scientific research in Malaysia. Finally, the participants discussed the multiphase motor technology and hydraulic power generation technology problems with Prof. Hew.

Prof. Hew’s report gave a deeper understanding about the scientific research environment and research level of Malaysia. With the purpose of improving people’s lives in remote tribal by using wind power or small hydroelectric power system, both sides hoped to carry out scientific research cooperation as soon as possible.

Prof. Hew Wooi Ping, deputy director of University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Center, has long engaged in motor systems and renewable energy power generation technology research.
