Prof. Thomas G. Habetler From Georgia Institute of Technology Visited IEE
Invited by the Research Department of Micro-nano Fabrication Technology and Intelligent Electronic Devices, Prof. Thomas G. Habetler from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, delivered an academic report entitled “Motor Condition Monitoring” on August 15, 2019.
Professor Thomas G. Habetler is a tenured professor of electrical and electronic engineering and IEEE Fellow, and received the first winner of the EPE-PEMC Outstanding Achievement. He is involving in the researches on electrical and building electrical systems, power electronics and drive protection and condition monitoring,
In the report, Prof. Thomas G. Habetler gave a short introduction about the Georgia Institute of Technology, and showed the research achievement in the fields of motor control and motor condition monitoring. He overviewed the methods and strategies for the protection and condition monitoring of electric machines using only the quantities typically available in a motor control center, which greatly increases the availability rate of system components without requiring changes to the system configuration or hardware.
