The fourth “magnetotactic bacteria research and its application” symposium (2011) organized by IEE,CAS
The fourth symposium of magnetotactic bacteria research and its application was successfully held at August 5-7, 2011 in the Tangshan holiday conference center in Beijing.
The symposium was sponsored by Institute of Electrical Engineering, CAS and cosponsored by Institute of Geology an Geophysics, CAS.More than seventy experts, scholars and students that come from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the French Research Center, the China Agricultural University, Shandong University and other units attended the symposium.
The delegates of the symposium debated the following topics: research progress and the development trend of magnetotactic bacteria; diversity and ecology of magnetotactic bacteria; magnetic mineral structure and its formation mechanism; functional studies of magnetotactic bacteria and application of magnetosome in nanomedicine and biotechnology.
The symposium fully revealed the diversity and universality of the magnetotactic bacteria resource in our country and reflected the Interdisciplinary Research Trends in the research of magnetotactic bacteria movement characteristics;synthesis mechanism of magnetosome. Furthermore, the cooperation research platform for future work is well established by this symposium.
