The 1st Mission Innovation Smart Grids Innovation Workshop was held

The 1st Mission Innovation Smart Grids Innovation Workshop - side event of The 8th Clean Energy Ministerial & The 2nd Mission Innovation, was held in China National Convention Center on June 6, 2017. Jie Zhang, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Meng Li, vice minister of China's Ministry of Science and Technology, attended the meeting and spoke. Harsh Vardhan, minister of Indian Ministry of National Science and Technology with the Earth Sciences, Ivan Scalfarotto, vice minister of Italian's Ministry of Economic Development, Patrick Child, deputy director of European Union Research and Innovation Division & chairman of the Mission Innovation Steering Committee, attended the meeting. The workshop also invites more than 150 delegates from 20 countries, international organizations, universities, scientific institutions and enterprises.

 

 

    The smart grid innovation challenge (MI IC#1) is one of the seven innovation challenges under the "Mission Innovation" framework. The MI IC working group is dedicated to the development and demonstration of smart grid technology under different grid conditions, and by 2030, it will form an overall technical solution for the adoption of 100% renewable energy generation. The joint working group leader was composed of Professor Yibo Wang of The Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr Luciano Martini of Italian energy systems research group company and Dr Sanjay Bajpai of Indian national ministry of science and technology. And the members are from 20 countries and regions, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.
